The Story Behind Santa:

Think of Santa as a global superhero. His story has roots in a Dutch legend about Sinterklaas, a friendly figure who delivered gifts to well-behaved kids on December 5th. As this tale traveled across the globe, it transformed into the beloved Santa Claus we all know and love today.

Difference Between Santa Claus and Sinterklaas:

Santa Claus is the American version of Saint Nicholas or Sinterklaas, as clearly indicated by their names: Santa Claus (from Dutch Sint Nicolaas or Saint Nicholas). Besides the name, there are other similarities. Both are elderly, white individuals who, especially in December, distribute numerous gifts to children. Sinterklaas distribute the gifts on horse on december 5th and Santa Claus distribute the gifts on reindeer on december 25th.
